ICC World Test Championship Points Table, WTC Table : England’s quick eight-wicket win over New Zealand in Christchurch was met with a surprise for both teams when the ICC decided to dock points from both sides for slow-over rates during the game. Due to their over-rate offences, both teams received three-point penalties in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table.
आंतरराष्‍ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषदेने (आयसीसी - International Cricket Council (ICC)) न्यूझीलंड आणि इंग्‍लंड दोन्ही संघाच्या गुणात कपात केली आहे. दोन्ही संघांना मॅच फीच्या १५ टक्के दंड आणि ३ WTC गुण कापण्यात आले आहेत. यामुळे टीम इंडिया विरुद्‍धच्‍या कसोटी मालिकेत ३-० अशी जिंकत ICC WTC मध्‍ये मुसंडी मारलेल्‍या न्यूझीलंड संघाला मोठा झटका बसला आहे.

इंग्‍लंड आणि न्यूझीलंड यांच्‍यातील कसोटी मालिकेत क्राइस्टचर्चमध्‍ये पहिला कसोटी सामना झाला. या सामन्‍यात न्यूझीलंड आणि इंग्लंडला संथ ओव्हर-रेटसाठी दंड ठोठावण्यात आला आहे, असे आयसीसीने म्हटले आहे. दोन्ही संघानी निर्धारित वेळेत तीन षटके कमी टाकली आणि प्रत्येक षटक कमी टाकल्याबद्दल त्यांना एक गुण दंड ठोठावण्यात आला. दोन्ही संघांना त्यांच्या मॅच फीच्या 15 टक्के दंड ठोठावण्यात आला आहे आणि महत्त्वपूर्ण जागतिक कसोटी चॅम्पियनशिप स्पर्धेतील ३ गुण वजा करण्यात आले आहेत.
WTC गुणतालिकेत ३ गुणांची कपात हा न्‍यूझीलंडसाठी मोठा धक्‍का आहे. कारण यामुळे संघ गुणतालिकेत थेट पाचव्या स्थानावर घसरला आहे. तसेच मालिकेतील पहिला सामना जिंकूनही इंग्लंडचा संघ अंतिम फेरीच्या शर्यतीतून बाहेर पडला आहे. तर न्यूझीलंडचे ३ गुण कमी झाल्याने चौथ्या स्थानावरून पाचव्या स्थानावर घसरण झाली आहे. न्यूझीलंडचे आता ४७.९२ टक्के गुण आहेत आणि इंग्लंडविरुद्धचे उर्वरित दोन सामने जिंकूनही ते आपले गुण कमाल ५५.३६ टक्क्यांपर्यंत वाढवू शकतात.
टीम इंडिया WTC गुणतालिकेत सध्या ६१.११ टक्के गुणांसह अव्वल आहे. दक्षिण आफ्रिका ( ५९.२६ टक्के गुण), ऑस्ट्रेलिया (५७.२६ टक्के गुण) आणि श्रीलंका (५० टक्के गुण) अनुक्रमे दुसऱ्या, तिसऱ्या आणि चौथ्या स्थानावर आहे.
New Zealand and England were both docked three penalty points due to slow overate in the 1st Test between the two countries with the Kiwis’ aspirations to book a spot in the World Test Championship final suffering a blow.
With the 3-point penalty, the Black Caps have now slid down to 5th spot with Sri Lanka, Australia, South Africa and India all ahead of them. The penalty to the Kiwis was a welcome news for India who lead the table with 61.11 percentage points.
New Zealand now have a points percentage of 47.92 percent and can only move as high as 55.36 percent with victories from their remaining two fixtures against England. South Africa (59.26), Australia (57.26) and Sri Lanka (50) are placed second, third and fourth respectively.
