Bangladesh deploys Turkish drones near border
बांगलादेशने (Bangladesh) पश्चिम बंगालला लागून असलेल्या सीमेवर तुर्की निर्मित ड्रोन तैनात केल्याने भारताने (India) बांगलादेश सीमेवर पाळत वाढवली आहे.
शेख हसीना यांच्या नेतृत्त्वाखालील अवामी लीग सरकार कोसळल्यानंतर सीमाभागात दहशतवादी कारवायांमध्ये वाढ होत असल्याचे संकेत गुप्तचर माहितीच्या आधारे देण्यात आले आहेत. भारतीय लष्कर सीमेजवळ Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) तैनात केल्याच्या माहितीची शहानिशा करत आहे. या ड्रोनचा वापर बांगलादेशच्या ६७ व्या सैन्याकडून गुप्तचर, पाळत ठेवणे आणि टेहळणी मोहिमांसाठी केला जातो. हे ड्रोन संरक्षणच्या उद्देशांसाठी तैनात केला असल्याचा दावा बांगलादेशकडून करण्यात आला आहे.
शेख हसीना यांच्या कार्यकाळात ज्या दहशतवादी गटांना रोखण्यात आले होते; ते आता भारतीय सीमेजवळील भागांत पुन्हा सक्रिया होताना दिसत आहेत. हे दहशतवादी गट आणि तस्करी नेटवर्क बांगला देशातील राजकीय अस्थिरतेचा फायदा घेऊन भारतात घुसखोरी करण्याच्या प्रयत्नात असल्याचे गुप्तचर यंत्रणांनी म्हटले आहे.
बायरक्तर TB2 ड्रोन या वर्षाच्या सुरुवातीला बांगला देशने विकत घेतले होते. यामुळे त्यांनी पाळत ठेवण्याची आणि सौम्य स्ट्राइक ऑपरेशन्स करण्याची क्षमता वाढवली आहे. डिफेन्स टेक्नॉलॉजी ऑफ बांगलादेश (Defence Technology of Bangladesh (DTB)) च्या माहितीनुसार, ऑर्डर केलेल्या १२ पैकी ६ ड्रोन कार्यान्वित आहेत.
India has intensified surveillance along the Bangladesh border amid reports that the neighbouring country has deployed Turkey-made drones near West Bengal. The development comes against the backdrop of intelligence inputs indicating an increase in terrorist activity along the border areas after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's Awami League government.
Army was verifying reports on the deployment of Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) close to the border with India. These drones are operated by Bangladesh's 67th Army for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. While Bangladesh claimed the deployment is for defence purposes, the strategic significance of positioning such advanced drones in a sensitive region has not been overlooked by India.
