त्यानंतर आता त्याच्या भात्यातून सलग दुसरं शतक आल्याचे पाहायला मिळाले. ४० किंवा त्यापेक्षा कमी चेंडूत टी२० क्रिकेटमध्ये २ शतके झळकवणारा तो पहिला खेळाडू ठरलाय.

या विक्रमी कामगिरीच्या जोरावर अनसोल्ड राहूनही Urvil Patel आयपीएलमध्ये एन्ट्री मारू शकतो. उर्विल पटेल हा आयपीएलच्या मेगा लिलावातही ३० लाख रुपये मूळ किंमतीसह सहभागी झाला होता. पण त्याच्यावर एकाही फ्रँचायझी संघाने बोली लावली नाही. आता त्याची स्फोटक खेळी पाहिल्यावर सर्वच फ्रँचायझी संघांना पश्चाताप होत असेल. ही चूक भरुन काढण्यासाठी काही IPL फ्रँचायझींना संधीही आहे.
RR च्या संघाने ६ खेळाडू रिटेन केल्यावर मेगा लिलावात १४ खेळाडूंवर बोली लावली होती. त्यांच्या ताफ्यात एका आक्रमक फंलदाजाची गरज आहे. पर्समध्ये ३० लाख रुपये शिल्लक असल्यामुळे ते या युवा खेळाडूला आपल्या ताफ्यात सामील करून घेण्याचा डाव सहज साध्य करू शकतात.
RCB च्या पर्समध्ये ७५ लाख एवढी राशी शिल्लक आहे. मेगा लिलावातील शॉपिंगसह या संघानं २२ खेळाडूंसह संघ बांधणी केली आहे. भारतीय फलंदाजांच्या रुपात RCB च्या ताफ्यात पुरेसे पर्याय उपलब्ध दिसत नाहीत. या संघासाठी उर्विल पटेल हा एक उत्तम पर्याय ठरू शकतो. त्यामुळे संधी मिळाली की, RCB चा संघ त्याला आपल्या ताफ्यात सामील करुन घेण्याचा डाव खेळण्यात मागे राहणार नाही.
MI च्या संघाने आगामी हंगामासाठी संघ बांधणी करताना गोलंदाजांवर अधिक फोकस केल्याचे दिसून येते. या संघाच्या ताफ्यात १० गोलंदाज आहेत. मुंबई इंडियन्स संघ नव्या चेहऱ्यांना संधी देण्यासाठी ओळखला जातो. उर्विल पटेल याला ताफ्यात घेण्याऐवढी रक्कम त्यांच्या पर्समध्येही आहे. ते हा डाव साधणार का ते पाहण्याजोगे असेल.
Gujarat opener Urvil Patel on Tuesday smashed his second T20 century in just six days, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Uttarakhand at the Emerald High School Ground. Patel blazed to a 36-ball hundred, leading Gujarat to a commanding eight-wicket victory in just 13.1 overs. Patel's century made him the first batter in T20 cricket history to notch up two hundreds in fewer than 40 balls. This milestone comes hot on the heels of his record-breaking 28-ball century last week against Tripura on the same ground.
The 26-year-old Urvil was part of the Gujarat Titans squad for the IPL 2023 season after being picked up for Rs 20 lakh. He was later released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Patel was also listed for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction as Player No. 212, but found no takers at his base price of Rs 30 lakh.
Urvil Patel, an opening batter for Gujarat, recently made headlines by smashing the second-fastest century in T20 cricket history. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 match against Tripura, he reached the milestone in just 28 balls. This also set a record for the fastest T20 century by an Indian, surpassing Rishabh Pant's 32-ball effort.
Patel’s innings included 12 sixes and seven fours, leading Gujarat to chase a target of 156 in only 10.2 overs. He scored 113 runs off 35 balls, with a 15-ball half-century en route to his explosive knock. Interestingly, Patel achieved this feat shortly after going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction
