बेळगाव-belgavkar : हॉटेलमध्ये येणाऱ्या नागरिकांना शुद्ध खाद्यपदार्थांबरोबरच पिण्यासाठी शुद्ध पाणी देणे ही हॉटेल चालकांची जबाबदारी आहे. हॉटेल व्यावसायिकांना परवाना देतानाही याबाबत माहिती दिली जात असते. तरी देखील शहरातील अनेक हॉटेलमध्ये येणाऱ्या ग्राहकांना सर्रास बोअरींगचे तसेच शुद्ध न केलेले पाणी पाजले जात आहे.

अधिवेशनाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर बेळगाव महापालिकेच्या आरोग्य खात्याकडून शहरातील हॉटेल्समधील पिण्याच्या पाण्याची तपासणी केली जात आहे. हलगा येथील सुवर्णसौधमध्ये 9 डिसेंबरपासून अधिवेशनाला सुरुवात होणार आहे. त्यामुळे सर्व मंत्रिमंडळ आणि अधिकारी बेळगावात वास्तव्यास असणार आहेत. विधानसौध परिसरात आमदार भवन नसल्याने मंत्री आणि आमदारांची विविध हॉटेल्समध्ये राहण्याची व्यवस्था केली जाते. त्यामुळे यंदाही 80 हॉटेल्स बुक करण्यात आली आहेत.

या पार्श्वभूमीवर हॉटेल्समधील पाण्याची गुणवत्ता तपासली जात असून ते पाणी पिण्यायोग्य आहे की नाही हे तपासण्यासाठी प्रयोगशाळेला पाठविण्यात आले आहे. शहरात मोठ्या प्रमाणात हॉटेल्स असून खवय्यांची संख्याही तितकीच आहे. बहुतांश जण बाटलीबंद पाण्याचा उपयोग करतात. तर काही जण हॉटेलमधीलच पाणी पिण्यास पसंती देतात. पाण्याची तपासणी ही केवळ अधिवेशनाच्या तोंडावर आहे का? असा प्रश्न उपस्थित केला जात आहे. मात्र ही कारवाई केवळ अधिवेशनापुरतीच मर्यादित न ठेवता सातत्याने पाण्याची गुणवत्ता तपासण्यासाठी आरोग्य खाते प्रयत्नशील असले पाहिजे, अशी मागणी होत आहे.
