In a significant move, UGC has approved SOPs for HEIs to offer the Accelerated Degree Programme (ADP) and Extended Degree Programme (EDP) : आता पदवीपूर्व विद्यार्थ्यांना पदवी अभ्यासक्रमाचा कालावधी कमी-जास्त करण्याचा पर्याय मिळणार आहे. यासाठी जलद पदवी कार्यक्रम (ADP) आणि विस्तारित पदवी कार्यक्रम (EDP) राबवण्याची परवानगी या आठवड्यात झालेल्या बैठकीत उच्च शिक्षण संस्थांना देण्यात आल्याची माहिती केंद्रीय अनुदान आयोगाचे (यूजीसी - University Grants Commission (UGC)) अध्यक्ष जगदीश कुमार यांनी दिली.
विद्यार्थ्याने एडीपी व ईडीपी यापैकी कोणत्या स्वरुपाचे शिक्षण घेतले त्याचा उल्लेख पदवी प्रमाणपत्रावर करण्यात येणार आहे. यासोबतच ही पदवी पुढील शिक्षणासाठी किंवा नोकरीसाठी मानक कालावधीच्या पदवीच्या बरोबरीने ग्राह्य धरली जाणार आहे. विद्यार्थी त्यांच्या शिकण्याच्या क्षमतेच्या आधारावर आपल्या अभ्यासक्रमाचा कालावधी कमी किंवा जास्त करण्याचा पर्याय निवडू शकतात.
एडीपी अंतर्गत विद्यार्थ्यांना प्रत्येक सत्रात (सेमिस्टर) अतिरिक्त क्रेडिट्स मिळवून तीन किंवा चार वर्षांच्या कमी कालावधीत पदवी पूर्ण करण्याची परवानगी मिळणार आहे. याशिवाय ईडीपी अंतर्गत प्रत्येक सत्रात कमी क्रेडिट घेऊन अभ्यासक्रमाचा कालावधी वाढवण्याचा पर्याय विद्यार्थ्यांसमोर ठेवण्यात आला आहे. एडीपी व ईडीपी यापैकी कोणत्याही स्वरुपाचे शिक्षण घेतल्यास विद्यार्थ्यांना मानक कालावधीच्या कार्यक्रमाप्रमाणेच एकूण क्रेडिट्स मिळणार आहेत.
There is good news for the students studying degree courses in the colleges affiliated with UGC. According to the information shared by UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, Higher Education Institutions will soon offer an option to undergraduate students to shorten or extend their study durations instead of the standard duration of their degree programmes. In a meeting this week, UGC approved SOPs for HEIs to implement the Accelerated Degree Programme (ADP) and Extended Degree Programme (EDP). The draft regulations will be uploaded shortly for stakeholders to provide feedback.
Degrees will mention a self-contained note
The time frame for finishing the degree program, whether shortened or extended, will be noted. It will be regarded equally to standard duration degrees for academic and recruitment considerations
