पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदींच्या अध्यक्षतेखालील केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाच्या (२५ नोव्हेंबर) बैठकीत अनेक महत्त्वाचे निर्णय घेण्यात आले आहेत. करदात्यांच्या ओळखीसाठी जारी केलेले पॅन कार्ड आता QR कोडसह जारी केले जाईल. आर्थिक व्यवहारावरील कॅबिनेट समितीने (CCEA) PAN 2.0 प्रकल्प सुरू करण्यास मंजुरी दिली असून या निर्णयामागे सरकारचा उद्देश सरकारी संस्थांच्या सर्व डिजिटल प्रणालींमध्ये पॅनचा मुख्य ओळखकर्ता म्हणून वापर करण्याचा आहे. या प्रकल्पासाठी सरकारद्वारे एकूण १४३५ कोटी रुपये खर्च केले जाणार आहेत.
डिजिटल सिक्युरिटीचे अपग्रेड : PAN 2.0 चा मुख्य उद्देश डिजिटल सुरक्षा मजबूत करण्याचा आहे जेणेकरून फसवणूक आणि डेटा चोरीची शक्यता कमी होईल.
ई-पॅन अनिवार्य : पॅन कार्ड PAN 2.0 प्रणालीमध्ये डिजिटल केले जाईल, ज्यामध्ये ई-पॅनचा वापर प्रामुख्याने केला जाईल. ही प्रणाली पेपरलेस असेल आणि तुम्हाला लगेच पॅन क्रमांक दिला जाईल.
फिनटेक आणि बँकिंगसाठी सुलभ इंटरफेस : हे सर्व बँकिंग आणि वित्तीय सेवांसाठी एक मजबूत आणि सुलभ इंटरफेस बनेल. आता पॅनला आधारशी लिंक करण्यासोबतच इतर आर्थिक डेटाही एकत्रित केला जाईल.
सध्या देशात सुमारे ७८ कोटी पॅन जारी करण्यात आले आहेत. त्यापैकी ९८% पॅनचा वैयक्तिक स्तरावर वापर केला जातो. या प्रकल्पाचे उद्दिष्ट प्रवेश सुलभतेसह आणि जलद सेवा वितरणासह अधिक दर्जेदार प्रदान करण्याचा असून हा प्रकल्प करदात्यांच्या चांगल्या डिजिटल अनुभवासाठी PAN/TAN सेवेच्या तंत्रज्ञान-आधारित परिवर्तनाद्वारे करदात्यांच्या नोंदणी सेवेच्या व्यवसाय प्रक्रियेची पुनर्रचना करण्यासाठी एक ई-गव्हर्नन्स प्रकल्प आहे. सरकारच्या विधानानुसार, हे विद्यमान PAN/TAN 1.0 इकोसिस्टमचे अपडेटेड व्हर्जन असेल.

The government has announced the PAN 2.0 project. At the time of the announcement, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the upgrade of PAN includes adding a QR code. This will be rolled out free of cost to all taxpayers.
According to press release issued by the government on November 25, 2024, PAN 2.0 Project is an e-Governance project. The project is being undertaken by the government for re-engineering the business processes of taxpayer registration services through technology driven transformation of PAN and TAN services and also for enhanced digital experience of the taxpayers.
PAN 2.0 will upgrade the current PAN and TAN 1.0 eco-system consolidating the core and non-core PAN and TAN activities as well as the PAN validation services. The PAN 2.0 Project aims to enable the use of PAN as common identifier for all digital systems of specified government agencies.
